our Cabalgata

A Cabalgata is a roughly a bridle-ride (or randonee in French) - a horse-ride across the countryside staying at a different place each night.

We did this one in late January/03. We started from La Vina, about 2 hours south of Salta in the far north-west of Argentina, and rode for 5 days and 5 nights - followed by a day without horses in Cafayate (another 2 hours further south) to visit the vineyards and swim in the waterfall.

The cabalgata was organised by Fernando Escudero who runs Pioneros Cabalgatas.

This Website is just an account of our trip - it's not meant to be a sales-spiel for anyone planning to do the ride; for detailed information, contact Fernando.

The lay-out is straightforward - just click next at the end of each page. The Sitemap (there's a button on every page) enables you to go direct to any bit you want to see or see again.
